Hi everyone...
I just got my Firestudio yesterday...
I have the "blue go light" but if I try and open the Firecontrol I get it with a explanation point on it... I am new to both computer based recording and my new iMac. I know pc's very well and used to be a tech but decided to try something different so I feel like a toddler learning anew here... It did take 4 times to get Cubase Le loaded but it finally went smoothly the last time. I have only added 1 program to the Mac and that is Gforce for my iTunes and music and have run the mac software updater and everything is current. I dont have the first clue on what to do to try and troubleshoot this issue so I can start using my new "toys" any and all help will be appreciated.
Thx in advance

I have tried to record and get nothing even tho I hear it thru the headphones when i try to record. I am getting wierd ghost levels even tho there is no audio being sent thru the unit - not spikes but consistant audio levels like there is signal and its picking up room noise with nothing plugged into it. I am new to computer recording but not new to recording please help an old skool production gal (by old school I mean back when cut and paste was splice and tape :)) thanks

Hello FSP Buddy, I wish I had some sort of answer for you, however being an xp user, i really don't know what your set up is. This exclamation point thing: I haven't seen it yet. I think perhaps you may try to uninstall/ reinstall the fsp, the flashing blue light means it is not synced to the computer, additionally as far as not being able to hear anything when trying to use it standalone before syncing to computer.... on mine the first time i ran the FireControl mixer application, I had to turn up the "virtual" output volume faders on the mixer, the fsp is supposed to remember its last settings when powered off..... my personal suggestion would be to invest a couple of minutes to speak with tech support or simply exchange your unit at your dealer, that's if you haven't been able to fix the problem yet before your dealer's exchange period expires. Otherwise, if you've already fixed your problem, then please excuse this drawn out post.

It was a simple fix and its taken care of now... everything had loaded correctly except the firecontrol wouldn't open for me ~ my blue light didn't flash it was constantly blue... I just couldn't open the control mixer to assign channels, volumes, etc... Deleted some files from the mac but don't really know specifically which one was causing the driver to load improperly but reinstalled the drivers and all is now good... thanks tho

Wondering something Betty my dear :)
Im also stuck with an iMac here and I've been having issues too to say the least.
I was wondering, in your FireControl window, do you see the "Advanced" tab?
I don't see that in my window but it should be there, also I cant record at anything else than 44k, and just listening to my playing at aything higher than that brings a whole world of snap crackle and pop to my track...

No I don't see an advanced tab but mine defaults to 48k but I can set it higher... do you have the intel processor or older??? if you are using vst it automatically goes to 44k. best thing I can suggest is download the latest drivers and if you have the latest just reload them there may be a conflict with something... Im not a mac expert in the least so I hope this helps... good luck!

Hi. I just got my FSP yesterday and it is working, but acting flakily.
At first, I also got the exclamation point. In another thread, someone said to reconnect the FW cable with the Mac running. That seemed to work, but the issue still recurs occasionally and the Firecontrol software has crashed and even seemed to bring down iTunes. However, I've repaired permissions and run some other maintenance routines with ****tail and restarted and things seem to be working a little better.
BTW, according to the manual, the Advanced tab is only for Windows-specific settings, so it does not show up in the Mac version.

but reinstalled the drivers and all is now good... thanks tho
What version of the drivers did you install?
I had downloaded the 30070 driver bundle and had success 1st install on my
old G4. Also have a PC laptop and installed the same version number XP
drivers with "eventual" success.
Seems to me these drivers could be optimized a bit more as they run with a
pretty high overhead. Latency settings are higher than expected for this
type of interface.

The latest beta driver is running much more smoothly on my Tiger Mac. Hardly any problems. Thank goodness. I had thought I might have to send it back.

Rocker-What exactly did you change to get things up and running? What sample rate are you operating at? I have a new iMac and I am having the same problem and it is completely killing my productivity. I would be monster grateful for any help you could throw my way.
