Hi everyone -
Everything sounds fine when I record using my FS Project, however, when I'm recording electric guitar, I almost always get this layer of fuzz that muddies up the sound significantly. It seems that whenever my attack (strum) is anywhere above being really soft, this hissy/fuzzy noise shows up. This happens even with clean guitar, no matter how loud/soft my guitar is, no matter what mics I use and no matter where they are positioned, no matter how far below clipping I have the FSP set, no matter what input I'm using. I know it's not the mics since they don't cause this problem on other recording devices.
I'm using a new FSP with Logic Express 8 on a brand new iMac. Again, drums, vocals, everything else sounds fine! And it's definitely not coming through my amp. I can reduce this nasty fuzzyness if I roll off some of the extremely high end, but it's still quite prevalent. Am I missing something? Granted, I'm new to home recording, but this is just baffling! Anyone else experience anything like this? Can anyone help?
Thanks for any help!
