Help! I'm using an Inspire on an G-5 imac running OS 10.4.11, either with garageband or cubase LE. I'm having noise problems... With nothing plugged in to the inspire inputs, I get weird oscillation noise on any of the 4 channels when the gain for each respective channel is cranked past 2/3, and using the boost on 1 and 2 makes it worse, obviously. This is with the inspire hooked to the computer with a firewire cable, and no other connections. Strangely, if I disconnect the inspire from the computer, and power it with the wall adapter, the preamp noise I'm hearing in my headphones disappears (although there is a slight 60 hz hum that I've heard others complain about). Any Advice?

I'm getting a very similar probem with a PC and the Inspire.

A high gain amplifier (which your mic preamp is when you crank up the gain) has a natural tendency to become unstable with nothing plugged in to the input. This is normal.
