i've had my firepod for about a year and a half now, and just recently the sync light stayed red when i powered on. this machine has been working well since day one and all of a sudden i'm seeing a slew of threads on here with people having the same problem as i am. does Presonus plan on doing anything about this to help people out, because for so many people to be having the same hardware issue, and it's clearly a hardware issue, is pretty ridiculous. i've spent $100 for the music store that i bought it from to take a look, and right away i was told it was a manufacturing defect, and unfortunately i'm outside of my warranty.

What have you tried so far? I just bought a firepod (having my own problems) so I'm not an expert...but here are my thoughts. I would try re-installing the Firepod driver first. Also it's possible a Windows update had an incompatible component, did the problem start right after an update? Third I would make sure your firewire port and cable are working correctly (make sure the port is not diabled). Let us know if you get it working. Good luck!

i've done everything i've seen suggested on this site to do...i've changed firewire cards, cables, ports on the firepod. i even tried it out on multiple pc's, and still it wont sync. and when i try to reinstall the drivers, i cant get passed the point where i'm prompted to turn the firepod on, because when i do, it doesn't get detected. it's very discouraging because at the time, i spent $900 on my firepod, so for it to fail on me like this after only a reasonably short period of time isn't at all acceptable. if there are so many people having the same problem, regardless of time owned, something should be done to compensate owners for having paid the money for equipment with such a defect. i'm still waiting for a reply to an email i sent last week, so hopefully some positive insight can be offered to this situation to hopefully benefit not just me, but everyone experiencing the same thing as i am.
