Is there a difference between PreSonus FP10 FireWire Recording Interface (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/PreSonus-FP10-10x10-FireWire-Interface?sku=242036) and the PreSonus FIREPOD 24-bit/96k FireWire Recording System (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/PreSonus-Firepod-FireWire-Interface-with-Cubase-LE?sku=184131)?

I would love to snag another one before they are gone.

I could tell you where to get them new for only $350, but not before I snag one or two more myself! Sorry! :o

Well actually, I could suggest the obvious - ebay.

That sucks ...I paid $599 for mine.
Is there any advantage to downloading and switching to the FP10 drivers?
Is it recommended?

I just snatched up the last one in GC for 280. It was on display, but never connected, the power supply was still in the box. I couldnt beat the deal.

No one has given us any reason to think the drivers are any different, except for the fact that fp10's can only daisy chain with fp10's etc etc

They just changed the name to FP10 because they discovered that the name "Firepod" was owned by another company. So to avoid any legal problems, etc.
