Hi I'm working with a new firepod and it keeps freezing or crashing Windows XP. My band has been using it on another member's computer (a very similar system) with no problems for 2 weeks but on mine it constantly freezes up my computer. Sometimes windows does not even finish starting up before freezing. At first I thought it was my ati radeon 9800 video card because my event viewer kept showing an error from ati2mtag saying crt type is invalid. So I uninstalled all the ati drivers and software. I stopped getting that message in the event viewer but the system kept crashing. I just uninstalled the firepod and the system's back to normal. I thought I was having a frustrating day before all this...what's going on??

I found this forum post explaining the same problem. Interestingly, the user has the same motherboard as me, ECS PT800ce-a with a VIA chipset...not sure what to do with this info.

It is definately not the video card. While the card was causing an error it was unrelated to the Firepod. I uninstalled the ATI video card and tested it with an nVidea cheapy card and have the same problem. Still waiting for help from tech support.
