Hi! I'm new here!
Does anybody know if a Firestudio project will daisychain with a firepod?
Thanks in advance, jgh

No. I have both. They seem to sync up with each other, but the Firestudio Project will take precedence, and the Firepod's drivers will be unselectable in your recording software. I just got screwed out of $550 from Guitar Center. One of the guys told me the Firestudio Project could be daisy chained to the Firepod/FP10. Not true. I also tried plugging them in separately (in separate firewire ports), the results were the same.
According to what I've read around here and elsewhere, the Firestudio Project is not even daisy-chainable with itself, "yet." In other words, as I see it, Presonus marketed an incomplete product. So I'm now screwed, and still need a Firepod... by Friday.
Yeah, sorry to rant. :(
Thanks! Sounds just like my story, I need one by friday too. Have you tried taking yours back to GC? They shouldn't have a problem with that. Anyway, thanks again.

Well, Mac is different. It will often be able to lump 2 audio devices together regardless of the specifics.
But guys, common - the incompatibility of the FSP & the Firepod are known, presonus is making no secret about it. This is not some huge advertising scheme or lie.

yeah, try taking it back, if they give you any trouble talk to a manager and explain to them the salesman gave false info, they should let you exchange it for a FP10 with some cash back also!

Never said it was. But I'm getting mixed comments from Presonus guys on these boards as to whether daisy-chaining is even being worked on for the FS and FSP.

I don't think they are going to work on Daisy Chaining the Firestudio, it has lightpipe and that is what they are pushing. But if you look at there website even they have a link to the "new firepod!" aka the Firestudio Project - they are trying to replace it, and that will only happen if it is daisy chainable.

Took it back fine, but getting ahold of a discontinued product turned out to take too long to meet my deadline. So I should feel pretty stupid tomorrow setting up equipment, and then saying, "by the way, we can only record 8 channels at a time."

The FP10 is not discontinued.

As I was kinda disappointed in the (software) routing of FP, or the LACK of it, I was very surprised when the FPSP was announced. It features the software panel routing like the FPS does and it even has nice level meters on the front. Who doesn't want that :)
Now I already own an Firepod and want to expend but rather buy the project version than than another FP10 for stated reasons. Having them chained would really really be supercool. Untill then I'm not about to purchase one..
So, let's fizz :)
