bought new firepod(not fp10) and drivers arnt installing completely

hey guys,

im looking for some help regarding the firepod (the version before it was renamed fp10, not that it may make a difference).....it is brand new, out of the box!!!!!

k, so i got the new drivers but figured it would be best to install from the original cd, so i put it in, and installed the audio drivers but thats as far as it gets, it doesnt get to the midi or asio installer.....? (and it completes the audio driver installation, without the option of continuing with the asio and midi)

so the audio drivers are in, nothing else, and i still have no audio playback.

i uninstalled the old drivers, do the new ones, all is good as before, the firepod control panel is fine.....no audio though, and no automatic prompt to install the asio or midi drivers.


my pc registers the firepod, it registers the midi in windows control panel aswell as in the latest asio4all i had previously installed......but no audio, no sound from headphone out......?

blue light is on.....it should be working?????




i have asus p5k deluxe mobo, service pack 2, e6750 2.66 core2duo with 2 gigs ram

ok, well i got the sound working by disabling my old soundcard, without the midi drivers??? and the asio still though!

although the cubase le aint working.....atleast i got sound, and it sounds pretty damb good for the price.....respect to presonus!!!!

cubase le.....not recognizing unit! it is the update too!

i tryed on my friends sx.....not successful at all, he has cool edit, i can record, but no multi tracking whatsoever.....what the ****!

it wont work in abelton for recording at all.....it crashes when i try

at least i can record in cooledit....supa! but the mic inputs, she are not working.

so far i can only use the instrument ins 1&2 with cooledit pro, ive had no luck assigning any other inputs for multitracking!

am i doing something wrong here????

le is up and running :):):):) but my abelton is crashing, only works in rewire,....**** this sucks!!!

Did you follow the manual? I'm not one to usually read a manual but my friend warned me that you have to install some stuff before you plug in the firepod. I just installed mine following the outlined steps and it went exactly as they said....except once installed it crashes my computer. The point is the installation went smoothly.

Yeah, if you did't pay particular attention to the installation as to when to plug in or turn on your firepod, uninstall and retry, paying particular attention. I can't remember, but I don't think it's supposed to be on or plugged in to your PC at the start of the installation. Check your manual for sure.

i did everything the manual told me....it isnt particularly useful for my situation...im speaking with the presonus support team....am recording nicely in le with the template, just trying to sort out the midi...thanks for the reply's :)
