Our church uses an ACP 88 and it's been good up until about two months ago. On the fourth channel, the gate closed light (red led) starts showing up when it's just sitting there with no music. I've sat there and watched it turn off and then I think "it's OK now" and then 5 minutes later, it'll be red again. We can't really use that channel and we need it. I hate to take it out of our system to send it in to get it fixed. Is there a dust bunny on a circuit inside that I can just open up the box and vacuum out or is this likely a bigger issue?

Aside from tightening up any cables inside the case, there really isn't much you can do in the way of repairing it. ACP88s are pretty straightforward in design, so you might be able to have a local technician give it once over to see if it's a simple issue.

However, if you don't want to void any warranty you may have left or are unable to find any glaring problems with it during the tech diagnosis, your only option will be to send it in to us for repair.

Yes it is a dust bunny, at the 1/4" gate sidechain input.

Try this trick, Chad at Presonus taught me for the ACP-22, it might help you.

Put either contact cleaner or Pro-Gold on a 1/4" plug, and work the plug in and out of each jack on the back a dozen times.
