I'm using a Blue Tube DP to amplify a guitar. The output is plugged into inputs 3 and 4 on my firebox. The gain is set on the Blue Tube to the point of distortion yet the signal output by my firebox into cubase is extremely low. How do I adjust the gain on inputs 3 and 4 when the preamp is already max'd out? The control panel 12 db boost for inputs 3 and 4 has no effect whatsoever.

Inputs 3/4 are line-in. They don't go to a pre-amp in the Firebox (except the +12 boast) so there is no gain adjustment on those inputs. Are you using the TRS output from the Blue Tube (that's a -10db line signal vs +4db for teh XLR output)? Any possibility that you have faders set wrong in the Firebox mixer?

Thanks for your reply! I'm using TRS output. I guess I'll pick up some XLR/TRS cables. That'll make up 14 db of the 20 db shortfall I'm seeing. The Firebox mixer settings are all 0 db - my understanding is that these settings only affect monitoring and not the record levels. The 12 db boost has no affect whatsoever. The boost works for the Mic and instrument inputs but not the line inputs. Could this be a defect in my Firebox?
