Hi! I was wondering what kind of latencies you all were getting using this setup: Cubase 4.1, Vista64, Firebox, Latest Drivers(with firmware update).

I seem to be getting some wierd latencies with the latest drivers when I check the "VST System Audio" Settings in Cubase... Mainly they are way to high and Mismatched... Meaning the Input latency is 3.574ms and Output latency is 5.850ms(at best settings). Which, if anyone knows is terrible for realtime monitoring and they are mismatched which is really strange, becuase they should be identical like before the driver update. Never had this problem until the recent driver update and even in windows xp the latest driver latencies were screwy, high and mismatched(windows xp and old drivers at best settings gave me= input:2.177ms, output:2.177ms Latency) Which was awesome! What happened?? Our maybe I am doing something wrong..our maybe I lost my mind? At this state, the audio card is useless to me..

Any advice our knowledge would be welcomed!!

P.S. Why would you remove 1.5ms Latency from the settings menu, like in the prior drivers??? A sign of a good audio card(like the maudio 66 i had before), is acurate(honest) low latency settings that show up the same within the host software and work.

:( So, still.. nobody else having these terrible mismatched latencies in Cubase?, since driver update?

Problem Solved!! Bought a MOTU Ultralite! Sounds Better! Works Better and the Drivers actually work with correct(matching input and output) latencies! If anyone wants a Firebox, I will be posting it on Ebay in the next day or so. I'm just glad my Eureka doesn't require decent drivers or I would be selling that too.

Im having the same issue. Cubase SX 3.1 reports different latency values than the firebox control panel and I cant get below 5.6ms in and 9.5ms out (thats 15ms latency) even with 2ms selected in the firebox control panel.

Whats the deal??

I think it's just bad drivers this round(xp and vista tested), for those who use cubase that is. Thinking of just selling everything and going ProTools Digi 003... the reviews are great, and their forums speak nothing of the issues that we are having. No apologies here:the Firebox is a great idea.. but has a lot to be desired...would never recommend it..the preamps are flat(not in that good kind of monitoring way) with little(flat)gain, even with the presonus eureka transmitting a digitial signal to it, it lacks warmth and punch. Now with the recent drivers, just puts another nail in this coffin. The MOTU UltraLite on the otherhand, is outstanding in all aspects. Worth the extra money for that warm, transparent quality you should expect from an audio card with a good reputation, whom had drivers(low honest latency)out and ready to begin with and is already Leopard Ready! Guess there is really a BIG difference between PRO and HOBBY. I've made my choice... and already spent close to a 1000.00 in order to realize it(not including cubase, and upgrades)... which I am trying to sell back. There's a reason why the pro music industry uses a specific platform.. and that's because it just "Sounds" better, and it's SOLID.

P.S. It's been almost a week, and still no response from tech support on this isssue.
