I purchased a Firepod a couple months back and finally set it up last week. I had a brand new Sound Blaster Audigy 24-bit sound card thinking I needed it to playback and mix in 24-bit. I have since been told on this site that Presonus products don't "play nice" with Sound Blaster Audigy cards.

If this is the case then how do I use the Firepod as my sound card not only for recording but for playback to mix.

If that isn't possible then what sound cards do work in 24-bit with Presonus products so I can record and mix. As of now with the Presonus and Audigy in my comp. I can record and see the signal in Sonar 3 but the playback is straight static.

Please help me! I've been waiting forever to make this upgrade in recording from my 16-bit Line 6 Guitar Port and it's frustrating me to no end.

You don't need a separate piece of equipment to playback/mix. Use the Main Outs (1 & 2) to run out from the Firepod into your monitors. If you're using PC speakers, you'll need a Y adapter, to convert the 2 mono 1/4" outs (from Firepod) into a single stereo mini jack (to PC speakers).

Make sure the Firepod's mixer knob is set to "playback", rather than "inputs".

Make sure Cakewalk's main bus (output) is set to the correct Firepod output. Cakewalk may be routing the signal to one of the other Firepod output ports. I don't have my Firepod with me, but I think its labeled as "Firepod ASIO Main Output 1L" or something like that.

Hope this helps.

Mhmm, with presonus stuff you want it to be you DAW I/O and your system I/O. That way, allllll the d/a a/d is inside the firestudio
