firepod connected to my PC via a 6 pin firewire cable. Recording works fine. problem is I have a constant hum. This was reduced when I swapped out firewire cables. One firewire cable was very noisy, the one I have now is less noisy. I am assuming its' the firewire cable causing the problem. I don't hear the noise in the recording via headphones. The noise is present in my sound system , only on the channel the firepod is outputting to. I have changed audio cables with no change in the hum. Only swapping the firewire cable that connects the firepod to the PC has made a difference. Any suggestion on how to eliminate this hum?

Tried both firewire inputs on the FP? Tried a different Firewire port on PC? Made sure no power cables are running paralled with audio cables? Made sure all the receptacles (and gear) are electrically grounded properly?
Thats where i would start my trouble shooting, seeing so you already tried a different firewire itself.
Do u have a power condtioner, they work great if your forced to plug into a receptacle thats part of a branch circuit connected to a lighting load. The hum from the lights will go straight into the wiring and then straight into your gear.
**** YOU 60cycle HUM!

I had a similar problem too, in my case it was caused by a ground loop. I connected a line isolation box between my sound device and my speaker system and the humming was gone.
