Hi , have purchased a presonus Firepod and to be able to use it both with the notebook (Windows Vista) one and with the pc (with XP) I have installed in both the pc the latest version of the driver and upgrade the firmware. I don't know if I have done well considering that it specified: FirePod Windows Vista (32 and 64-bit) Windows XP (64-bit) Driver ver 2.46 and my xp perhaps works to 32 bits.Have I hurt? The problem that I have found is this: During the copy of some files from a dvd to the fixed disk, the reproduction of a file audio is impossible, it crackles and it hardly advances. If I select the integrated card instead, during the same copy, I succeed in normally listening to it. Help, help, help. My configuration: Pentium(R) 4, Cpu 3.20Ghz 3.21 GHz, 1,00 GB RAM.

Try this.
right click on My Computer > select Properties. Click the Hardware tab, then click "Device Manager" button. In here, extend the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers; double click on the Primary and Secondary IDE Channels; click Advanced Settings. Here you will see Device 0 and Device 1, you will see "Transfer Mode" (which is usually set to DMA if available) and you will see "Current Transfer Mode". Current Transfer needs to be set to UDMA(Ultra DMA) mode. If either Device on the Primary or Secondary Channels are set to PIO mode, this could be your problem. (PIO mode is a slower, legacy transfer mode for older HD's.) If either is set to PIO mode, enter the BIOS and set the IDE Controllers to 'Auto'. This should enable you to change the "Tranfer Mode" to DMA if available". You can alternately return to the Device Manager, right click on the Primary/Secondary IDE Channel listed then "Uninstall" it. Once uninstalled, rebooting your computer will refresh it.
