I recently bought a Faderport for use with my Pro Tools rig, although my studio partener uses Digital Performer. I noticed somewhere on the website that drivers for DP are in the works.
Does anyone know if the drivers are really in production or how long I might expect to wait for the Faderport to work with DP?

I noticed quite a few people have looked at this thread but it would be great if someone in the company would comment on my question.

The developers just sent me the 2nd round of alpha drivers this past Friday (which means I get to test them tomorrow).
I have both Sonar 6 and Digital Performer FaderPort alphas on my computer, so I can assure you they are far from "VaporWare (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware)"

Thank you sir for the reply. I really wanted to know that it was in the works and not just some form of false hope for people with DP wanting a Faderport.
Appreciate it! :)

Oh Goodie!
Then, hopefully, Logic Express won't be far behind. (Should be a pretty easy one, actually)

We'll keep our finger crossed that all the bugs are worked out quickly! :)

I'm having trouble getting DP to recognize the faderport in HUI mode. I don't get any midi options for faderport in the control surface setup, even though audio midi setup shows the faderport and the midi monitor shows that the faderport is sending midi to DP. Any ideas?

Really? The one time I hooked it up in DP it didn't control anything. I unfortunately don't know which version of DP I was trying it on. I'll get back & post which one it is.

I was told by a fairly smart guy at Sweetwater that it should operate in HUI mode and bought one based on that. But that remains to be seen. I wonder what the talk track is on it at presonus tech support?

I was told this device would work with Digital Performer in HUI mode (which I realize is limited) until the new drivers came out. I have tried to select HUI mode in control surfaces, but there is no faderport midi selection there. However, faderport does show up in midi monitor and does show midi being received by DP. Also, under receive sync in DP, Faderport shows up as a midi device. I assume that under control surfaces, I would need to select faderport as the midi device sending the HUI commands, otherwise DP has no way to get the data. Does anyone know what is going on here and what I can expect? Thanks in advance.
DP 4.61

Despite what salesmen will tell you, the FaderPort does not function properly as a HUI device.
By creating a new external device in your Audio / MIDI Setup and connecting it to your FaderPort, you can set up the FaderPort in DP.
The alphas I have been testing perform well, and I look forward to the beta results.
If you have a FaderPort & DP 5 and would like to become a beta tester for the FaderPort DP drivers, please Contact Us (http://www.presonus.com/forums/sendmessage.php) at techSupport@PreSonus.com.

Is this without the current "in devolopment" drivers? To give limited control?

This is a step you'll have to take regardless. The difference is that with the FaderPort plugin installed, you'll see "FaderPort" alongside "HUI".

I can't seem to assign any functions from the faderport (fader, knob, etc) to functions in DP... However - Stop, play, ff, and rewind work, as do the window view options. Weird. Or, maybe expected?

Both.

I was mistaken! Now the channel select functions work, as does the fader and the pan!
Bottom line, this thing works in HUI mode with DP 4.61 (all I can test on).

Thanks jbski, for the info which led to getting this working. That's good support if you ask me.
It works. Folks, it works. And I imagine it will work even better with actual drivers. But who knows, this seems to work pretty well!
