Have had this little guy for a couple months now and for the most part love it, But i do have a couple questions
1. how do i turn off touchFader? When i press the [Touch] button in fader mode nothing seems to happen and everytime i touch the fader the [Touch] button lights up.
OK and when is this gonna happen????

Looks at calender.... shakes head
Suggestions....
In future updates of the faderport dll maybe make it possible to assign the footswitch to what ever function you would like ... play and stop would be nice as then you could set you punch in and out for recording and remotely via footswitch start and stop.... And also maybe work it that you could link functions. so that a button would turn off and on 2 things at once.
thanks for listing look forward to you answers

I'm just the messenger. All I can say is that we're working on the firmware upgrade to enable the footswitch. I've been told it will be ready shortly, but I don't have an ETA. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience.
Just to clarify: The touch button doesn't light up when you press it, it doesn't light up until you touch the fader?
What mode is registering in your DAW? do read or write buttons light up?

Hi Wes, thanks for the quick reply, Im running Cubase SX 3 and both read and write buttons work as they should, the problem im having with touch fader is this...
Lets say i want to do a fade in on an audio track In Cubase... the automation track for Volume starts at zero... i grab the fader and write is now activated... i move the fader up and it records.... once i have the fader at the level i want for the track if i take my finger of the fader the automation track drops back to zero even though the fader and the level is still at the level i set during the recording of the animation. But with read activated upon playback.... all is fine until the point i removed my finger the the fader volume and all drop to zero.
I dont think its suppose to work this way, or is it? why is the button there if it doeent provide the ability to turn off the touch feature?
thanks
Jaymo

Touch automation usually works this way:
It only writes volume data while your touching the fader, once you release it it will snap to the position it was at before you grabbed the fader.
I think what you're wanting to happen is actually latch automation, this allows you to write volume data by touching the fader and making movement and then the volume latches to the last volume message received and stays consistant from there.
I'm a Logic user, so I don't know how Cubase deals with the two different automations. Any Cubase users out there care to comment?

Yea thats exactly what i want it to do... latch.. ill have look at the setting in cubase to see if maybe there is some setting for this.
Still curious as to why the touch button dosen't seem to have any function though other then to light up when i touch the fader. would be nice to turn off the touch feature sometimes and maybe be able to assign that button to something else if its sitting there doing nothing.....is this going to be some future functioning button? or just a indicator telling me im touching the fader?
MFG

Update, found the latch function in Cubase and now its working like id like for this bit im doing. sweet i learned somethng new =0).
Still think it would be nice if the touch button had a function in cubase other then indicating that im touching the fader.....maybe make it that it cycles through the fader functions in Cubase..... Touch fader --->autolatch ----> X-over ---> Overwrite ---> so by pressing the touch button you can select the mode its in in Cubase or what ever in another DAW
thanks for the help
