Faderport and Logic 7.1

Just bought the Faderport, love the design and idea behind it. Now everything works fine except the fader. I can not remote control the faders in Logic, there is no reaction on the fader of a channel when I move the fader on the F-port. Instead it sometimes writes an event with the preset level (i.e. the volume of the track is at, lets say, 2db, and when I write on the track and move the fader, it eventually writes an event at 2db, but does neither move the actual volume of the track and neither writes anything). What could be the problem?

MAC OSX 10.3. on a G5, 2.0 GhZ
Logic 7.1
Faderport is connected on a USB Hub
Power is connected to Faderport
HUI is installed in Logic, Input/Output set to Faderport
